Today, in just two and half hours we collected 20 plus large bags of compost, one bag of littler, two totes of rocks plus a whole mess of dandelions. Retirement Residence

“Myself along with 4 other team members and two guests spent time with seniors and helped with an exercise activity called chair dancing! In a group of about 25 seniors, we participated in different “dances” where the seniors stay seated, but moved their arms and legs along to the leaders’ instructions. Our “dances” included an Irish jig and a country & western dance! We also spent time getting to know the seniors. In just a short time we really connected with the people that live there. The success of this experience can’t be gauged by the number of trees planted, or the amount of trash picked up. But, the profound impact a few of the seniors made on our group is really immeasurable!”

“I volunteered at a retirement residence in barrie at the IOOF for my TELUS Day of Service, it was definitely enlightning for me. Our team interacted with the residence in an exercise program and had a blast — it was nice to see that the residence enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed there’s — I think they might even showed us up on the exercises! It was a great experience and would definitely volunteer for that opportunity again.”
